The Event at Rebecca Farm marks its 25th year with competitors traveling from throughout North America to compete. Presented by non-profit Montana Equestrian Events, Inc., The Event runs Wednesday, July 15 through Sunday, July 19, 2026 in Kalispell, Montana.
The Event stages competition in the equestrian sport of Three Day Eventing, which combines dressage, cross-country and stadium jumping phases. Its 14 different levels range from Olympic level, CCI4*-L, to Beginner Novice divisions suitable for amateur and junior equestrians and horses of all ages and breeds. The Event includes Training and Novice Classic Three-Day divisions that promote the sport’s training foundation with additional phases and related education opportunities.
The wide range of divisions reflects founder Rebecca “Becky” Broussard’s vision to gather all levels of competitors together on one beautiful and expertly prepared stage.
Located in Northwest Montana’s Flathead Valley, the “gateway to Glacier National Park,” Rebecca Farm provides one of the most beautiful backdrops found in equestrian sport. Cross-country tracks run over much of the Farm’s 640 acres, with obstacles that are famously whimsical in appearance while being solid tests of horsemanship at every level.
One-Of-A-Kind Competition
“The Event is spoken of as amongst the greatest competitions in the world for the Olympic sport of eventing,” says US Eventing Association CEO Rob Burk. “Its unique reputation is the result of its spectacular venue, and highest-level competition coupled with highest-level hospitality.”
“We love and support the sport of Three Day Eventing and the competitors really drive what we do,” says Sarah Broussard, the Event’s organizer and daughter of its founder, Becky Broussard. “Knowing how excited the riders are to be here is what keeps us going,” she says of The Event’s remarkable longevity.
Spectators are welcome at no charge and typically come out in droves. Even after a quarter century, The Event draws new fans to equestrian sport. “People are wowed and awed at the magnitude of The Event, of the Trade Fair, of the stabling… all of it,” Sarah observes. “People don’t really understand the whole ‘shebang!’ of The Event until they get here. It becomes our own little city.”
Competition will be watched from around the world thanks to live streaming by RNS Video Media on this YouTube channel – starting Wed, July 15.
The Event’s family feel sets it apart from other international equestrian competitions. “We are still family owned and operated and I think that family, caring attitude is not found in many places,” Sarah adds.
The Event’s Shopping Fair and Festival are open Thursday through Sunday, with free Kids Zone fun Friday through Sunday and delicious food options all four days. Patron opportunities enable guests to support the sport while watching it from shaded viewing areas with fresh-baked goodies and weekend buffet lunches.
Heated Competition
Three-time CCI4*-L champion James Alliston leads the field, with HMR Rolan, his partner in a CCI3*-L reserve championship last year.
The CCI4*-S will see hot competition as part of the US Equestrian Open of Eventing series. Pacific Northwest favorites Karen O’Neal and Clooney 14 are veteran contenders at this level, while fellow professionals Stephanie Goodman and Erin Kellerhouse are after the title on rising star equine partners. For Idaho’s Stephanie Goodman, that’s Elwenda DP and Korella d Watermolen. And for California’s Erin Kellerhouse, it’s Ringwood Adios Amigo, who was 3rd in the CCI3*-S last year.
Those are just a few of the exciting match-ups ahead. Thanks to cross-country courses designed by Jay Hambly of Canada and the USA’s Bert Wood, and show jumping tracks by Chris Barnard of the USA, competitors can look forward to plenty of positive challenges no matter who’s in their division.
An Impactful Event
The Event’s impact extends far beyond the equestrian world with Halt Cancer at X. The charitable initiative was launched in 2012 by Sarah Broussard in honor of her late mother, who was lost to breast cancer in 2010.
Through Halt Cancer at X, Montana Equestrian Events has so far provided more than $1.1 million in grant funds to innovative breast cancer research projects and to local non-profits that offer financial and wellness services to breast cancer patients. Earlier this year, a major Halt Cancer at X grant supported ground-breaking diagnostic research.

Funds are raised by year-round donations and an auction during The Event. This year’s auction items include premiere stabling and RV camp sites for The Event in 2027, a Whitefish Mountain winter vacation and a six-day beach stay in Capitola, California, Donations and bids on these items can be made here. Auction bidding closes Friday, July 17 at 8:30 p.m. during the Competitors Party and donations are welcome all year.

The Event and the Broussard Family also have a huge impact on the careers of riders and horses with international championship goals. Generous programs, administered by the USEA Foundation, include Travel Grants that significantly offset the cost of getting to Kalispell for many CCI3* and CCI4* who wish to be considered for the Rebecca Broussard Developing Rider Grants.
