The Halt Cancer at X Grant Program
Rebecca Farm is about more than just horses… We care about the well-being and spirit of our community, and about supporting innovative research seeking to find a cure for breast cancer!
In memory of The Event’s Founder, Rebecca Broussard, her daughter Sarah launched the “Halt Cancer at X” charitable initiative in 2012 to raise funds for breast cancer research. (The name comes from the equestrian dressage test — where the first movement is for the rider to halt the horse at a station marked “X” in the arena.) Community grants to support local organizations, providing mammography screenings, financial assistance and other services to breast cancer patients, soon followed.
Through the amazing generosity of local and equestrian communities of support, Montana Equestrian Events, through Halt Cancer at X, has been able to award over one million dollars in cumulative grants to local organizations and medical researchers since 2012.
Donations are accepted year-round. Local grants are awarded annually in October and a national research grant is awarded in January.
